Happy Birthday, Walker!!

I can't believe that Walker turned ONE today!!  What has happened to the past year?  It has just flown by.  We had such a great day!  I will post lots of pictures to share with you soon.

Dearest Walker,
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!  You have grown up and changed so much in the past year.  It is hard to believe this time last year you were in my belly and now you are walking all over the house. We thank God for giving you to us everyday.  We are so blessed! We know that there are so many more great things to come for your future.  You have brought us unimaginable joy!  We love you!

Walker is a walker!!

Walker is walking everywhere!  He has been taking steps for almost a month and a half, but he is now a proficient walker.  He has been at it for a couple of weeks, but I have been too busy chasing him to blog about it.  He is all over the place and into everything.  He has started trying to run starting today.  I can't believe how much this little boy has changed in less than a year!  It has been amazing and a little sad (only for mommy).  Other new things that Walker has been up to....clapping, climbing, jabbering all the time, petting Baxter, brushing his hair, drinking from my cup, wanting to eat everything I eat, making funny noises and faces, uncontrollable laughing, feeding me his food, and so much more!!  He is doing new stuff everyday!

First day of School (Mother's Day Out)
He's off!!

Walker, we are so proud of you!!

Another Baylor Bear....Sic 'em!

Eliza is a officially a Baylor Bear!  We are so excited!  It is so nice to have her a short couple of hours down the road.  Dave and Cyndy made the trip to Texas to move Eliza in a couple week ago.  They were able to stay longer and hang out with us.  It was so great!  We also got to cheer up Cyndy after leaving her little Bear in Waco.  Sic 'em Baylor Bears!!

Melts My Heart!

Walker is obsessed with watching Matt mow.  Obsessed. He stands at the window after bathtime and watches Matt mow the entire front yard. When Matt goes out of sight, Walker stands on his tip-toes and leans forward.  He just can't get enough.  Little does he know that he turn will come, so I hope the obsession last a lot longer.
Baxter is never far away from W....just in case Walker has food.

Chores

We haven't blogged in a while. Have you missed us? We have been VERY busy! Walker is constantly on the go and into everything. I took some pictures of him doing his weekly chores. He gets paid in puffs and bananas.

Taking Baxter on a stroll
Laundry
Preparing dinner
Checking the mail
Emptying the dishwasher
As you can tell, a baby's job is never done. He is really busy with his chores. Although, he is still finding time for playdates, grubbing and naps....barely.

Walker's Dedication....oh, and Father's Day

We had Walker's Baby Dedication at church on Father's Day. The day was so focused on Walker that Father's Day was kind of a side note....poor Matt! We had lots of friends and family join us for church to see the dedication and then come celebrate with us for lunch at the house. We dedicated 1 Kings 2:2-3 to Walker. Matt read the verse to the church and I just held the babe and smiled. Walker looked dapper and even talked to the whole congregation. We are so blessed for our little miracle.
Oh yeah, Father's Day....Matt is an amazing father! He loves hanging out with Walker and showing off the little man. Walker is so lucky to have such a great, loving, Christian Dad. Walker also has 2 charming grandfathers. I know that these three men will shape the man that Walker will become. Lucky boy!!
"So be strong, show yourself a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go" 1 Kings 2:2-3

Where Did My 12 Hours Go?

I used to LOVE telling people that my sweet baby sleeps for 12 hours a night. Take note of the key words: "used to". It has come to bite me in the bottom. Walker is so eager to play and learn about this crazy world...I can hardly get him to sleep. Last night the little guy played in his crib for 2 hours before having a melt down and prompting Matt to rock him to sleep. I just knew that he would be exhausted and sleeping in this morning...WRONG! He was up at 6:30am!! He usually sleeps until 8am. What in the world?! He has officially mastered pulling up on the side of his crib and walking around. He grabs the camera for our video monitor and swings it around. He is all over the place these days! What else has Walker been up to?? Well, he has popped his top 2 teeth (bringing us to a grand total of 4), eaten/destroyed his crib railing, does 'The Worm' to get from place to place (an interesting method of crawling). We are so blessed a have a sweet, active, funny and charming little boy, even if he is refusing to sleep.
