There are stars out here!

We left the city last Friday and headed to my parents cabin in Crockett. It was so nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and escape to the great outdoors. We had such a great weekend! The weather was gorgeous and we spent lots of time outside. Matt commented that being at the cabin was more relaxing than the Mexico trip....I agree!! The land and the cabin have been in the family since my dad was a little boy. He spent lots of his childhood at the cabin with his grandfather. And some of my fondest memories growing up were made at the cabin. I just love it! It is such a special place and I can't wait for Walker to join in on the tradition. It won't be long before he is riding in the Ranger and running around with his own Snoopy fishing pole.

Oh Mexico..

Matt and I went to Mexico for 5 days and the little man stayed behind with his Gramma Cyndy and Great-Gramma Joni. It was pure torture...for me! Everyone else seemed so happy about the whole situation, but I was dying. I hadn't been away from Walker for more than a few hours and I was now going to leave him for days....ahh!
Matt won the trip through work for being a top performer, so it was free. If it is FREE, it for ME! The resort was gorgeous and the food and drinks were yummy. There was only one problem, it rained almost the whole time. Not just a little drizzle, but a monsoon. We were only able to put on our swimsuits once (a relief to me) and hang out by the pool. Other than our one pool day, we ordered room service, ate, drank, went to the spa and slept. It was great, but we were so ready to get home to see WZ!!
Cyndy gave Walker a great report card! They both had a great time! We are so thankful that Cyndy and Gramma Joni made the long trip to Texas to watch Walker. He was in great hands! Although, next time we go somewhere Walker is coming with us!!
Rainy and gloomy, so......
I slept A LOT!
One beautiful day of sunny skies!

6 Months Old!

Walker turned 6 months old a week ago! I can hardly believe it! Time has flown by. He is so active and curious these days. Everyday is such a fun and new learning experience. What is Walker up to these days? Grabbing his toes, putting his toes in his mouth, sitting, babbling, squealing, wearing size 3 diapers, sleeping 12 hours a day, eating oatmeal cereal 2 times a day, drinking milk 4 times a day, wearing size 9-12 months, napping 3 times a day, loves smiling, reading books, Baxter is Walker's new buddy, rolling over from your tummy to back and back to tummy, putting everything is his mouth, blowing spit bubbles, loving life and so much more!! We love you, Walker!! I can't believe that you have been in our life for 6 months! Each day keeps getting better and better. You bring your mom and dad such joy!

New Tricks!

Within the past couple of weeks Walker has been pulling some new tricks out of his bag. He has found his feet and is constantly trying to get them in his mouth (not yet successful, but close). He is expressing his independence by pulling off his own sock now.
WZ is also getting very close to sitting on his own. He can do it for a little while, but he needs someone within catching distance at all times. I constantly watch him with amazement! It is so crazy to think that he was in my belly less than 6 months ago and now he is almost sitting. *tear* He is just growing up so fast! My friend, Raquel, brought to my attention the John Mayer song "Stop This Train". That is the song that I am singing over and over these days, because everything is just moving so fast. I want to savor it all!

"See once in a while when it's good
It'll feel like it should
And they're all still around
And you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing
'til you cry when you are driving away in the dark

Stop this train I want to get off and go home again
I can't take this speed it's moving in
I know I can't
Cause now I see I'll never stop this train"

Papa and Nana Visit

Matt's grandparents, Papa and Nana, made the treck to Dallas for the weekend and finally got to meet Walker. We had such a wonderful time! The weather was breezy, but gorgeous. We were able to get out of the house and enjoy it a little. We spent our time this weekend at the Dallas Arboretum, eating, visiting, going to church and watching Walker smile and coo. He did great this weekend and put on a nice show for his great-grandparents. We were sad to see Papa and Nana head home. Walker even cried as they left. Enjoy the pictures!
